SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 23
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Justice C. Anderson
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of Justice C.
  Anderson, who died December 29, 2012, at the age of 83; and
         WHEREAS, Justice Anderson was born February 13, 1929, in
  Bay City; he attended Baylor University and married Mary Ann
  Elmore while they were both students; he earned degrees in
  English literature and history before receiving a master of
  divinity degree and a doctoral degree in theology from
  Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Anderson and his wife served as missionaries
  in Argentina from 1959 to 1974, during which time he was a
  professor of church history and homiletics at the International
  Baptist Theological Seminary in Buenos Aires and president of the
  Argentine Baptist Mission; his three-volume Historia de los
  Bautistas, the Spanish-language Baptist history published in
  1990, is used in seminaries around the world; and
         WHEREAS, He returned to the United States in 1974 and
  joined the faculty of the Southwestern Baptist Theological
  Seminary as the George W. Bottoms Professor of Missions; in 1980,
  he founded the World Missions Center at the seminary, where he
  taught future missionaries between his many travels; and
         WHEREAS,
 
 
         WHEREAS, As a missionary, Justice Anderson visited more
  than 60 countries and survived several government coups; a man of
  courage, strength, and compassion, he will be remembered for his
  deep and abiding faith, his supportive nature, and his enthusiasm
  for living each day to the fullest; and
         WHEREAS,
 
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Justice C. Anderson; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Justice C. Anderson.
