WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Teresa | ||
Ann Bock Manning, who passed away on September 30, 2024, at the age | ||
of 92; and | ||
WHEREAS, The daughter of William and Kathryn Koppy Bock, the | ||
former Teresa Bock was born on January 31, 1932, in Roscoe, | ||
Minnesota, and she grew up with the companionship of three older | ||
siblings, Edward, Theodore, and Donna; in 1952, she married the | ||
love of her life, Laurence "Mick" Manning, and they went on to share | ||
more than five decades together; three weeks after their wedding, | ||
Mr. Manning was deployed to serve in the Korean War as a member of | ||
the U.S. Air Force; when he returned, the couple bought their first | ||
house in Roseville, Minnesota; they were blessed with six children, | ||
Mike, Dave, Bill, Kathy, Don, and John, and their family eventually | ||
grew to include nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; | ||
and | ||
WHEREAS, When Mr. Manning was discharged from the military, | ||
the family moved to Fort Worth in 1967 to be closer to | ||
Mrs. Manning's brother, Ed; after spending two decades as a devoted | ||
homemaker, she enrolled in the nursing program at Harris Hospital, | ||
receiving her licensed vocational nurse license in 1974 and | ||
registered nurse license in 1982; and | ||
WHEREAS, In their later years, Mr. and Mrs. Manning retired | ||
to a home on Lake Granbury, and they traveled in their motor home, | ||
spending summers in Minnesota with friends and family; following | ||
Mr. Manning's passing in 2003, Mrs. Manning lived with her sister, | ||
Donna, in Benbrook for many years; and | ||
WHEREAS, Teresa Manning led a full and generous life | ||
surrounded by those she loved, and they will forever carry her close | ||
in their hearts; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature | ||
hereby pay tribute to the memory of Teresa Ann Bock Manning and | ||
extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her family: to her | ||
children, Michael Manning and his wife, Cindy, David Manning and | ||
his wife, Terrie, William Manning, Kathleen Manning Farrelly and | ||
her husband, Richard, and John Manning and his wife, Sheila; to her | ||
grandchildren, Michael, Marc, and Tiffany Williams, Matthew | ||
Manning, Jamie Beckelman, Lauren Farrelly Searway, Megan Farrelly | ||
Paetzold, and Haley and Ashlyn Manning; to her great-grandchildren, | ||
Dean, Taylor, Luke, Colton, Emma, Mary Elizabeth, Anne Margaret, | ||
and Owen; and to her many other relatives and friends; and, be it | ||
further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this | ||
day, it do so in memory of Teresa Manning. |
