R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Robert E. Van Cleave of Tyler, who passed away on August 21,
  2023, at the age of 93; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Robert and Louise Van Cleave, Bob Van
  Cleave was born in Southeast Texas on May 7, 1930, and he grew up in
  Mission with the companionship of two brothers, Horace and James;
  his deep appreciation for nature and the outdoors prompted him to
  enroll at Utah State Agricultural College; after earning his degree
  and serving in the military during the Korean War, he embarked on a
  rewarding career with the Texas Game and Fish Commission, which
  later became the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department; he eventually
  retired from TPWD in 1993; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Van Cleave shared a fulfilling marriage with his
  wife, Loretta, that spanned more than five decades before her
  passing in 2010; he was the devoted father of four children, Tamra,
  Robert, Luke, and Karen, and with the passing years, he had the
  privilege of watching his family grow to include nine
  grandchildren, Amy, Matthew, Braxton, Bailey, Cameron, Timothy,
  Christian, Caroline, and Caleb, and five great-grandchildren,
  Isabella, Alexander, Sophia, Olivia, and Zoe; a man of strong
  faith, he and Mrs. Van Cleave were founding members of Grace
  Community Church in Tyler; in his leisure time, he enjoyed
  attending home Bible studies and spending time with friends and
  family; and
         WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Bob Van Cleave
  leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far
  richer for having known him, and he will always hold a treasured
  place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 4th
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Robert E. Van
  Cleave and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Bob Van Cleave.
