Alex Taylor Olmsted | ||
WHEREAS, | ||
WHEREAS, Alex was a beloved scholar and athlete at | ||
Jefferson High School in San Antonio; a member of the senior | ||
class, he ran track for the school and was an offensive lineman on | ||
its football team; this exceptional young man will be missed for | ||
his intellect, his quick wit, and his easy smile; and | ||
WHEREAS, Alex was a member of the National Honor Society | ||
and was a National Hispanic Merit finalist; after interning at a | ||
law firm last summer, he had decided to become an attorney and had | ||
applied for college at Harvard University; he was one of the top | ||
10 students in his graduating class; and | ||
WHEREAS, Although this outstanding student was taken at | ||
such a young age, he made a lasting impression on all those who | ||
knew him; his athletic talent was remarkable and his desire to | ||
accomplish great things in life inspired his family and friends | ||
alike, leaving a poignant legacy that will long be cherished; | ||
now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, | ||
83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the | ||
bereaved family of Alex Taylor Olmsted; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the | ||
Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do | ||
so in memory of Alex Olmsted. | ||
