SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 82
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize the state's grocery store employees for their |
|
|
exceptional efforts during the historic February 2021 winter |
|
|
storm; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, When the massive winter storm hit Texas, much of |
|
|
the state was left without power for nearly a week, and citizens |
|
|
across Texas faced serious food and water shortages; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The state's grocery store workers have spent |
|
|
nearly a full year bravely serving Texans in the face of their own |
|
|
personal risk during the COVID-19 pandemic, and their efforts |
|
|
during the massive winter storm were a continuation of their |
|
|
selfless service to their communities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Texas grocery store workers were a vital part of |
|
|
the state's response to the devastating 2021 winter storm, and |
|
|
they truly deserve special recognition for their invaluable |
|
|
services to the public; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby extend heartfelt gratitude to the grocery |
|
|
store employees for their hard work and countless contributions |
|
|
to the people of Texas; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
|
|
their honor. |
