| WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Chapter of the American | ||
| College of Physicians are gathering in Austin on February 19, | ||
| 2025, for the organization's Advocacy Leadership Day at the State | ||
| Capitol; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Dedicated to promoting quality health care for | ||
| all Texans, TXACP works to advance the field of internal medicine | ||
| through advocacy, education, and initiatives aimed at enhancing | ||
| patient care and medical standards in Texas; the organization | ||
| represents more than 8,000 physicians, residents, medical | ||
| students, and affiliate members and comprises two regions with | ||
| representative leadership throughout the state; and | ||
| WHEREAS, TXACP Services supports and improves the practice | ||
| of internal medicine by addressing the scientific, economic, | ||
| social, and political aspects of medicine to maintain the highest | ||
| standards of patient care; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The TXACP Foundation fosters knowledge and | ||
| philanthropy that enhances health care in Texas by promoting | ||
| initiatives such as the General Internal Medicine Statewide | ||
| Preceptorship Program, which encourages students to enter the | ||
| field of internal medicine and supports residents in educational | ||
| and scientific endeavors; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Texas Chapter of the American College of | ||
| Physicians has rendered exceptional service to internal medicine | ||
| professionals across the state, and the organization's Advocacy | ||
| Leadership Day provides an important opportunity to connect with | ||
| fellow medical professionals, to learn about current legislative | ||
| issues impacting the field, and to engage with lawmakers about | ||
| key health care policies; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th | ||
| Legislature, hereby recognize February 19, 2025, as the Texas | ||
| Chapter of the American College of Physicians Advocacy | ||
| Leadership Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to | ||
| the visiting delegation; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be | ||
| prepared for TXACP as an expression of high regard from the | ||
| Texas Senate. | ||
