Summary
Violation of provisions of protective orders while armed with a firearm; penalty. Provides that any person convicted of violating the provisions of a protective order while armed with a firearm shall be sentenced to a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of three years for a first conviction and a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of five years for a second or subsequent conviction. Under current law, such violation is punishable as a Class 6 felony with no mandatory minimum term of imprisonment.
