Summary

Virginia Property Owners' Association Act; home-based businesses. Provides that no property owners' association shall prohibit a lot owner from operating a home-based business within his personal residence if the operation of the home-based business is in compliance with all applicable state laws and local ordinances, unless the home-based business is expressly prohibited by the declaration. Under current law, operation of a home-based business is allowed only to the extent that the declaration is silent on the operation of home-based businesses.
