HOUSE BILL NO. 1215 Offered January 17, 2014 A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 46.2-863.1, relating to reckless driving; violation of right-of-way. ---------- Patron-- Bell, Robert B. ---------- Committee Referral Pending ----------

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 46.2-863.1 as follows:

§46.2-863.1. Failure to yield right-of-way resulting in death or injury.

A person shall be guilty of reckless driving who violates §46.2-816, 46.2-820, 46.2-821, 46.2-824, 46.2-825, or 46.2-833 when such violation results in the death of another person or causes the serious bodily injury of another person resulting in permanent and significant physical impairment.
