A BILL to require the Board of Medicine to adopt regulations
relating to notice to patients of risk of cobalt poisoning.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. §1. That the Board of Medicine shall adopt regulations requiring health care providers licensed by the Board who perform joint replacement surgery to inform patients on whom such surgery shall be performed of the risk of cobalt poisoning associated with joint replacement, the symptoms of cobalt poisoning, and the steps such patients should take if they begin to experience symptoms of cobalt poisoning.
