Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia: 1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 18.2-146.1 as follows: §18.2-146.1. Entering occupied motor vehicle of another; penalty. Any person who, without the consent of the owner or other person in charge of a motor vehicle, enters into a motor vehicle occupied by such owner or other person with the intent to interfere with the rights of such owner or other person to use such motor vehicle free from interference is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor. The provisions of this section shall not apply to a law-enforcement officer as defined in §9.1-101 in the performance of his official duties. |
