A BILL to amend and reenact § 15.2-107.1 of the Code of Virginia, relating to legal notices.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  That § 15.2-107.1 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

 §15.2-107.1. Advertisement of legal notices on web sites.

A.  In addition to any requirements that a locality advertise legal notices in a newspaper having a general circulation in the locality, such notices may also be published on the locality's World Wide Web site.

B.  In any instance in which a locality is required to publish a notice in a newspaper having a general circulation in the locality, and the locality in good faith attempts to have such notice published, a failure by the publisher of the newspaper to properly publish such notice shall not invalidate any action of the locality if the locality has also published such notice pursuant to subsection A.
