HOUSE BILL NO. 992 Offered January 10, 2024 Prefiled January 9, 2024 A BILL to direct local departments of social services to enter into agreements with local workforce development boards regarding coordinated workforce development services for certain public benefits program participants. ---------- Patron-- Tran ---------- Committee Referral Pending ----------

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. §1. That each local department of social services (local department) shall develop and enter into a written agreement with the local workforce development board serving the jurisdiction served by the local department. Such agreement shall (i) provide for the coordinated provision of workforce development services to participants in the Virginia Initiative for Education and Work and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment and Training and (ii) comply with any other requirements established by the Department of Social Services.
