WHEREAS, the Loudoun Valley High School boys' cross country team of Purcellville won the Virginia High School League Group 4A state championship in November 2015; and WHEREAS, the Loudoun Valley High School Vikings bested several worthy competitors to claim first place in the team standings of the state final, which was held at Great Meadow field events center in The Plains; and WHEREAS, Drew Hunter of the Loudoun Valley High School boys' cross country team claimed an individual state title with a time of 15:04 at the event; and WHEREAS, Marc Hunter and Joan Hunter, coaches of the Loudoun Valley High School boys' cross country team, were named the 2015 High School Coaches of the Year for Virginia by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association; and WHEREAS, the state championship victory is a testament to the skill and dedication of each of the student-athletes, the leadership of the coaches and staff, and the energetic support of the entire Loudoun Valley High School community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Loudoun Valley High School boys' cross country team on winning the Virginia High School League Group 4A state championship; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Marc Hunter and Joan Hunter, coaches of the Loudoun Valley High School boys' cross country team, as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the team's achievements and best wishes for the future. |
