HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 250
Celebrating the life of Samuel Lee Green.
 
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, March 4, 2024
 

WHEREAS, Samuel Lee Green, an esteemed mortician and active and beloved member of the Appalachia community, died on January 11, 2024; and

WHEREAS, after graduating from Appalachia High School in 1957, Samuel "Sam" Lee Green earned a degree from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1960; and

WHEREAS, Sam Green devoted more than six decades to the Roy A. Green Funeral Home in Appalachia, where he provided innumerable families with exceptional care and compassion as he assisted them during their period of bereavement; and

WHEREAS, a longtime member of the Appalachia Church of Grace, Sam Green was guided throughout his life by his deep and abiding faith; and

WHEREAS, Sam Green was committed to the well-being of his community and gave generously of his time as a member of the Appalachia Lions Club and as a founding member of the Appalachia Rescue Squad; and

WHEREAS, Sam Green will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his loving wife, Charlotte; his children, Samuel, Jr., and Todd, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Samuel Lee Green, a cherished member of the Appalachia community whose faith and dedication were an inspiration to all who knew him; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Samuel Lee Green as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
