WHEREAS, Geraldine Griffin, a beloved community leader in Hampton Roads, died on November 5, 2019; and
WHEREAS, Geraldine Griffin was a longtime resident of Portsmouth and attended Portsmouth Public Schools; and
WHEREAS, Geraldine Griffin pursued a career in home health care with Interim HealthCare of Virginia Beach, ensuring the wellness of countless local seniors and helping them to remain engaged in community life; and
WHEREAS, throughout her life, Geraldine Griffin was guided by her deep and abiding faith; she inspired others as an evangelist and was well-known for her spiritual guidance and leadership; and
WHEREAS, predeceased by her husband, Donald, and one daughter, Karen, Geraldine Griffin will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her children, Horace, Glen, Antonio, James, Rainee, Leon, Marvin, and Annette, and their families, and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Geraldine Griffin; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Geraldine Griffin as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for her memory.
