A BILL to allow the Department of Veterans Services to contract with any hospital in the Commonwealth that furnishes a comprehensive treatment program to any veteran who has been certified by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or any branch of the United States Armed Forces as having post-traumatic stress disorder or traumatic brain injury.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. §1. That the Department of Veterans Services may contract with any hospital in the Commonwealth that furnishes a comprehensive treatment program that includes medication, psychotherapy, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, from an accredited program, to any veteran in the Commonwealth who has been certified by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or any branch of the United States Armed Forces as having post-traumatic stress disorder or traumatic brain injury. The Department of Veterans Services shall include in any contract with such hospital the requirement that data be collected to assess the efficacy of such treatments for such veterans and any other information deemed relevant by the Department of Veterans Services.
