A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section
numbered 24.2-305.1, relating to redistricting; split precincts prohibited.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 24.2-305.1 as follows:
§24.2-305.1. Split precincts prohibited; exception.
At any level of election district, each precinct shall be wholly contained within a single election district, except where splitting the precinct among two or more election districts is necessary to ensure the population of each district is as nearly equal to the population of every other district as practicable.
