A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section
numbered 1-208.1, relating to the definitions of carbon-free energy and clean
energy.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 1-208.1 as follows:
§1-208.1. Carbon-free energy; clean energy.
"Carbon-free energy" or "clean energy" means electric energy generated from a source that does not emit carbon dioxide into the atmosphere during the process of generating the electric energy, including electric energy generated by the conversion of sunlight, wind, falling water, wave motion, tides, geothermal or nuclear energy.
