SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 220
Commending Greg Nuckols.

WHEREAS, Greg Nuckols, a dedicated public safety officer and an advocate for firefighters around the Commonwealth, retired from the Henrico County Division of Fire as a battalion chief after more than 34 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Greg Nuckols held numerous operational and administrative assignments in the Henrico County Division of Fire over the course of his distinguished career; and

WHEREAS, as a lieutenant, Greg Nuckols served at some of the busiest stations in Henrico County and mentored many younger firefighters, earning the Henrico Holder Leadership Award for his commitment to training and education; and

WHEREAS, Greg Nuckols spent the last four years of his career as the battalion chief for health and wellness in the Henrico County Division of Fire; and

WHEREAS, Greg Nuckols played a pivotal role in a firefighter cancer screening initiative, for which he was recognized by the Virginia Fire Chiefs Association; his perseverance and dedication to the project saved the lives of countless firefighters; and

WHEREAS, Greg Nuckols has served the residents of Henrico County and the Commonwealth with integrity and distinction; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Greg Nuckols, an esteemed firefighter in Henrico County, on the occasion of his retirement; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Greg Nuckols as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for his accomplishments on behalf of his fellow firefighters and the Henrico County community.
