Summary
The purpose of this bill is to continue the Office of Emergency Medical Services as an independent office within the Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety. It updates definitions; creates the positions of Executive Director, Medical Director and Administrative Director for the Office; and establishes and clarifies the powers and duties of the directors. The bill establishes the Emergency Medical Services Commission with nine members, and, it provides requirements for the state medical protocols. Strike‑throughs indicate language that would be stricken from the present law, and underscoring indicates new language that would be added. §16‑4C‑4a, §16‑4C‑4b and §16‑4C‑5a are new; therefore they have been completely underscored.
