Summary

The purpose of this bill is to enhance the ability of the Municipal Pensions Oversight Board to ensure compliance and protect the fiscal integrity of the states municipal policemens and firemens pension and relief funds. The bill clarifies the oversight boards authority to investigate practices of local policemens and firemens pension funds and to intervene in any legal actions involving the funds. It also clarifies procedure for refunding contributions to a member who leaves before retirement.
