The purpose of this bill is to clarify the type of military service eligible for noncontributory military service credit; to clarify the methodology for awarding military service credit; to clarify the prohibition on use of military service to obtain military service credit in more than one retirement system administered by the board; to clarify applicability of liberality clause to the board’s decisions to grant or deny requests for military service credit; and to make other technical clarifications and corrections.
