A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, by adding thereto a new section, designated §18-2-46, relating to the removal of standardized testing in public and private schools; and providing for an effective date.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
Article 2. State Board of Education.
§18-2-46. Removal of standardized testing in schools.
(a) The State Board of Education shall cease the administration of all standardized tests and testing in public and private schools.
(b) This section shall become effective for the 2025-2026 school year and for every school year thereafter.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to eliminate standardized testing requirements in West Virginia public and private schools.
