A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding a new section, designated §21-3A-10, relating to requiring an opioid antagonist be included in workplace first-aid kits.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
Article 3A Occupational Safety and Health Act.
§21-3A-10. Ensuring access to naloxone or opioid antagonist in the workplace.
The Commissioner or his or her agent shall, before December 1, 2027, require and ensure that first aid materials in a workplace include naloxone hydrochloride or another opioid antagonist approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration to reverse opioid overdose and instructions for using the opioid antagonist.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require an opioid antagonist be included in workplace first-aid kits.
