A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new article, designated §18B-22-1, relating to requiring West Virginia public institutions of higher learning to classify children of graduates from any West Virginia public college or university as an in-state student.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
article 22. In-state status exception.
§18B-22-1. In-state resident status for tuition purposes.
Children of graduates from any West Virginia public institution of higher education shall be classified as West Virginia residents for the purposes of tuition, room, and board at all West Virginia public universities and colleges.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require children of out of state alumni of all WV state universities and colleges to be classified as in-state students.
