Recognizing the dedicated public service of the Honorable William Chandler Swope, Sr.

Whereas, The Honorable William Chandler Swope, Sr., was born August 14, 1942, in Welch, West Virginia, son of the late William B. and Virginia M. Swope; and

Whereas, The Honorable William Chandler Swope, Sr., received his B.S. in Industrial Management from Ohio State University; and

Whereas, The Honorable William Chandler Swope, Sr., was elected to the West Virginia Senate in 2016, and served two terms; and

Whereas, The Honorable William Chandler Swope, Sr., during his tenure in the Senate, served as Vice Chair, Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, 83rd Legislature; Chair, Committee on the Workforce, 83rd Legislature; Vice Chair, Committee on Government Organization, 84th and 85th Legislatures; Chair, Committee on Economic Development, 84th and 85th Legislatures; therefore, be it

Resolved by the Senate:

That the Senate hereby recognizes the dedicated public service of the Honorable William Chandler Swope, Sr.; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Senate extends its sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Honorable William Chandler Swope, Sr., for his dedication and commitment to serving the citizens of West Virginia; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Honorable William Chandler Swope, Sr.
