BILL NUMBER: AB 682 INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member Williams FEBRUARY 25, 2015 An act relating to public utilities. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 682, as introduced, Williams. Electric and gas service: master-meter customers. Existing law authorizes the transfer of the ownership and operational responsibility for the provision of electric or gas service from an owner of a master-metered mobilehome park or manufactured housing community that provides electric or gas service to residents to the electric or gas corporation providing service in the area in which the mobilehome park or manufactured housing community is located. Existing law requires the Public Utilities Commission to adopt a standard form of agreement for transfer of gas and electric distribution facilities in these parks and communities that is required to be the basis for expedited approval of the transfers. This bill would declare the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to address implementation issues regarding commission decision 14-03-021 and the voluntary conversion of electric and natural gas master-metered service at mobilehome parks to direct service by corporations providing electric or natural gas or both. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would address implementation issues regarding Public Utilities Commission decision 14-03-021 and the voluntary conversion of electric and natural gas master-metered service at mobilehome parks to direct service by corporations providing electric or natural gas or both.
