CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE—
2023–2024 REGULAR SESSION
Senate Bill
No. 1304
Introduced by Senator Limón |
February 15, 2024 |
An act to amend Section 3200 of the Public Resources Code, relating to oil and gas.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
SB 1304, as introduced, Limón.
Oil and gas: wells and production facilities: designated agent.
Existing law requires the State Oil and Gas Supervisor to supervise the drilling, operation, maintenance, and abandonment of wells and the operation, maintenance, and removal or abandonment of tanks and facilities attendant to oil and gas production, as provided. Existing law also requires an owner or operator of a well or production facility to, among other things, designate an agent, as specified, to receive and accept service of all orders, notices, and processes of the supervisor or a court of law, and further requires every person appointing an agent to notify the supervisor, as specified, of the termination of the agency, and, unless operations are discontinued, to appoint a new agent.
This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to the latter provision.
