LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST SB 1348, Cannella. Licensure applications: military experience. Existing law provides for the licensure and regulation of various professions and vocations by boards within the Department of Consumer Affairs. Existing law requires each board to inquire in every application for licensure if the individual applying for licensure is serving in, or has previously served in, the military. This bill would require each board, with a governing law authorizing veterans to apply military experience and training towards licensure requirements, to post information on the board's Internet Web site about the ability of veteran applicants to apply their military experience and training towards licensure requirements. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 114.5 of the Business and Professions Code is amended to read: 114.5. (a) Each board shall inquire in every application for licensure if the individual applying for licensure is serving in, or has previously served in, the military. (b) If a board's governing law authorizes veterans to apply military experience and training towards licensure requirements, that board shall post information on the board's Internet Web site about the ability of veteran applicants to apply military experience and training towards licensure requirements.
