AN ACT CONCERNING THE TRAINING OF INDIVIDUALS STAFFING RESIDENTIAL CARE HOMES LICENSED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2017) Not later than January 1, 2018, the Department of Public Health shall ensure that individuals staffing residential care homes licensed by the department under section 19a-491 of the general statutes receive training regarding the dispensing of medication that is substantially similar to the training provided to individuals staffing facilities licensed by the Department of Children and Families or registered with the Department of Social Services.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
Section 1	July 1, 2017	New section

Statement of Purpose:

To ease the burden placed on residential care homes licensed by the Department of Public Health.
