AN ACT CONCERNING COMMUNICATION AMONG THE STATE POLICE AND LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENTS DURING ACTIVE SHOOTING INCIDENTS AND CERTAIN OTHER INCIDENTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2013) (a) In the event of a shooting incident involving multiple victims, the Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection shall use the state-wide police emergency radio network to notify all organized local police departments in the state of the incident, the location and time of the incident and any other information said commissioner deems appropriate for dissemination to local police departments by such method.

(b) The commissioner may adopt regulations, in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54 of the general statutes, concerning the use of the state-wide police emergency radio network during or following any such shooting incident or any other incident involving multiple victims.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

For purposes of clarity, section 1 was divided into two subsections and, in subsection (b), "any" was inserted before and after "such shooting incident or", and "similar" was deleted.
