HOUSE BILL NO. 332

AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 28 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO BOXING, MIXED MARTIAL ARTS, AND COMBATIVESPORTS ENTERTAINMENT.


BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:


Section 1.Amend Chapter 1, Title 28 of the Delaware Code by adding a new Subchapter VIII to read as follows:

"Subchapter VIII. Special Requirements

§116. Use of fire, police, paramedic, or emergency medical services.

If during any boxing, mixed martial arts, or combative sports entertainment event, in which a license or permit is required pursuant to this chapter, the services of any fire company, police agency, paramedic, and/or emergency medical services provider are used for any participant of such event then the licensee, permit holder, and/or promoter of such event shall be responsible for and shall pay the costs of the services provided by the fire company, police agency, paramedic, and/or emergency medical services provider.".


SYNOPSIS

This bill requires the licensee, permit holder, and/or promoter of a boxing, mixed martial arts, or combative sports entertainment event, in which a license or permit is required, to be responsible for the costs of police, fire, paramedic, and/or emergency medical services used for a participant during such event.
