A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to housing.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 201H, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§201H- Emergency home relocation special fund. (a) There is established the emergency home relocation special fund to be administered by the corporation.
(b) The following shall be deposited into the special fund:
(1) Legislative appropriations to the special fund;
(2) All interest earned or accrued on moneys deposited into the special fund; and
(3) Any other moneys made available to the fund.
(c) Moneys in the special fund shall be used to provide infrastructure development, grants, and loans to assist persons dispossessed of their homes as a result of a natural disaster, as that term is defined in section 171-85."
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2015-2016 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2016-2017 to be deposited into the emergency home relocation special fund.
SECTION 3. There is appropriated out of the emergency home relocation special fund the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2015-2016 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2016-2017 to assist persons dispossessed of their homes as a result of a natural disaster.
The sums appropriated shall be expended by the Hawaii housing finance and development corporation for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
