HOUSE RESOLUTION

 

 

requesting a financial report from the aha moku advisory committee.

 

 

 


     WHEREAS, Act 288, Session Laws of Hawaii 2012, established the Aha Moku Advisory Committee as part of the Department of Land and Natural Resources for administrative purposes; and

 

     WHEREAS, the Aha Moku Advisory Committee was established to serve in an advisory capacity to the Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources on issues related to land and natural resources management through the aha moku system; and

 

     WHEREAS, the aha moku system is a system of best practices that is based upon the indigenous resource management practices of moku boundaries, which acknowledges the natural contours of land, the specific resources located within those areas, and the methodology necessary to sustain resources and the community; and

 

     WHEREAS, Act 288 provided the Department of Land and Natural Resources with a general fund appropriation for fiscal year 2012-2013, for the administrative costs related to carrying out the duties of the Aha Moku Advisory Committee; now, therefore,

 

     BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-seventh Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2014, that the Chairperson of the Aha Moku Advisory Committee is requested to submit to the Legislature, not later than June 30, 2014, a financial report, covering fiscal years 2012-2013 and 2013-2014, that itemizes the following matters in an appropriate format:

 

     (1)  Sources of funding, including general funds and interdepartmental transfers;

 

     (2)  Expenditures made, including both amounts and purposes;

 

     (3)  Projected expenditures; and

 

     (4)  Operational costs; and

 

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Aha Moku Advisory Committee and the Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources.
