A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to dentistry.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 448, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§448-     Cease and desist order.  (a)  The board may issue an order to cease and desist:

     (1)  The unlicensed practice of dentistry; or

     (2)  Any other act or practice in violation of this chapter.

     (b)  After receiving a cease and desist order, the continued practice of dentistry without a license or the continuing of any other act or practice in violation of this chapter shall be a class C felony."

     SECTION 2.  This Act does not affect rights and duties that matured, penalties that were incurred, and proceedings that were begun, before its effective date.

     SECTION 3.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
