AIRCRAFT,
AND
MAKING
PENALTIES
APPLICABLE.
BE
IT
ENACTED
BY
THE
GENERAL
ASSEMBLY
OF
THE
STATE
OF
IOWA:
Section
1.
Section
708.1,
subsection
2,
paragraph
d,
subparagraph
(1),
Code
2023,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:
(1)
(a)
Intentionally
points
a
laser
emitting
a
visible
light
beam
at
toward
another
person
with
the
intent
to
cause
pain
or
injury
to
another
,
or
toward
an
aircraft
.
For
purposes
of
this
paragraph,
“laser”
means
a
device
that
emits
a
visible
light
beam
amplified
by
the
stimulated
emission
of
radiation
and
any
light
which
simulates
the
appearance
of
a
laser.
(b)
For
purposes
of
this
subparagraph
(1):
(i)
“Aircraft”
means
any
contrivance
intended
for
and
capable
of
transporting
persons
through
the
airspace.
