Registration
plates
issued
for
a
motor
vehicle

which
is
model
year
1948
or
older,
and
reconstructed
or

specially
constructed
vehicles
built
to
resemble
a
model
year

1948
vehicle
or
older,
Notwithstanding
subsection
1,
any
of

the
following
motor
vehicles,
other
than
a
truck
registered
7
for
more
than
five
tons,
autocycle,
motorcycle,
or
truck
8
tractor,
may
display
one
registration
plate
on
the
rear
of
the
9
vehicle
if
the
other
registration
plate
issued
to
the
vehicle
10
is
carried
in
the
vehicle
at
all
times
when
the
vehicle
is
11
operated
on
a
public
highway
.

vehicle

make,
model,
and
trim
level,
if
the
trim
level

a

engine
than
the
base
model,
of
which
ten

thousand
or
fewer
vehicles
of
that
make,
model,
and
trim
level
21
were
manufactured
in
the
year
the
motor
vehicle
was
produced,

as
determined
by
the
department.

(2)
“Vintage
motor
vehicle”
means
a
motor
vehicle
which
is
24
model
year
1979
or
older.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement

Under
current
law,
registration
plates
issued
for
a
motor

vehicle
other
than
an
autocycle,
motorcycle,
motorized
bicycle,

or
truck
tractor
must
be
attached
to
the
motor
vehicle,
one

in
the
front
and
the
other
in
the
rear.
However,
a
motor

vehicle
which
is
model
year
1948
or
older,
or
a
reconstructed

or
specially
constructed
vehicle
built
to
resemble
a
model

year
1948
or
older
vehicle,
other
than
a
truck
registered
for

bill
authorizes
a

motor
vehicle,
a

reconstructed
or
specially
constructed
vehicle

to

a
vintage
motor
vehicle,
and
a
limited-production

vehicle
to
display
one
registration
plate
on
the
rear
of

the
vehicle
if
the
other
registration
plate
is
carried
in
the

vehicle
when
the
vehicle
is
operated
on
a
public
highway.

The
bill
defines
“vintage
motor
vehicle”
as
a
motor
vehicle
13
which
is
model
year
1979
or
older
and
“limited-production
motor

vehicle”
as
a
motor
vehicle
with
a
specific
make,
model,
and

trim
level,
if
the
trim
level
has
a
different
engine
than
16
the
base
model,
of
which
10,000
or
fewer
vehicles
of
that

make,
model,
and
trim
level
were
manufactured
in
the
year
the

motor

The
bill
makes
organizational
changes
to
Code
