Bill Title: Creates the Feminine Hygiene Products for the Homeless Act. Provides that feminine hygiene products, including, but not limited to, sanitary napkins, tampons, and panty liners, shall be available free of charge at all homeless shelters that provide temporary housing assistance to women or youth. Provides that a homeless shelter's obligation to satisfy this requirement is subject to the availability of funds in the homeless shelter's general budget.

1 AN ACT concerning homeless shelters.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5Feminine Hygiene Products for the Homeless Act.
6 Section 5. Access to feminine hygiene products. Feminine
7hygiene products, including, but not limited to, sanitary
8napkins, tampons, and panty liners, shall be available free of
9charge at all homeless shelters that provide temporary housing
10assistance to women or youth. A homeless shelter's obligation
11to satisfy the requirement of this Section is subject to the
12availability of funds in the homeless shelter's general
13budget. As used in this Act, "homeless shelter" means a
14supervised publicly or privately operated shelter designed to
15provide temporary living accommodations to individuals who
16lack a fixed, regular, and adequate residence.
