Bill Title: Amends the Wildlife Code. Provides that wild turkey and deer hunting permits shall be issued without charge to children, grandchildren, parents, grandparents, brothers, or sisters that permanently reside on lands with an Illinois landowner who owns or a resident tenant that resides on at least 40 acres of Illinois land.

1 AN ACT concerning wildlife.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Wildlife Code is amended by changing Section
52.27 as follows:
6 (520 ILCS 5/2.27) (from Ch. 61, par. 2.27)
7 Sec. 2.27. It shall be unlawful for any person to take
8cottontail, jack, and swamp rabbits except with a gun or bow
9and arrow during the open season which will be set annually by
10the Director between the dates of October 1st to February 28th
11January 31st, both inclusive. Dogs may be used in hunting with
12either gun or bow and arrow.
13 It shall be unlawful to take or possess more than the daily
14take limit and possession limit of rabbits that will be set
15annually by the Director. Limits cannot exceed a daily take
16limit of 5 rabbits or a possession limit of 10 rabbits.
17 The provisions of this Section are subject to modification
18by administrative rule.
