Bill Title: Amends the Public Utilities Act. Provides that not more than 90 days after the effective date of the amendatory Act, the Illinois Commerce Commission shall direct the Office of Retail Market Development to update the consumer education materials for residential consumers and small business consumers. Provides that the Commission may form another working group to prepare and review the consumer education materials prior to their adoption by the Commission.

AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1653
2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1653, AS AMENDED,
3with reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment No.
41 as follows:
5on page 10, immediately below line 8, by inserting the
6following:
7 ""Service area" has the same definition as found in Section
816-102 of the Public Utilities Act."; and
9by replacing line 20 on page 18 through line 2 on page 19 with
10with the following:
11"then they shall be procured in states that adjoin Illinois. If
12resources are not available in Illinois or in states that
13adjoin Illinois, then they may be purchased elsewhere.
14Beginning June 1, 2011, resources procured pursuant to this
15Section shall be procured from facilities located in Illinois
16or states that adjoin Illinois. If resources are not available

1in Illinois or in states that adjoin Illinois, then they may be
2procured elsewhere. To the extent available, at least 75% of";

4on page 32, line 1, after "of", by inserting "cost-effective";
