Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a municipality, township, county, or other unit of local government may not impose a civil penalty for violation of the Code that is in excess of the amount provided for in the Code.

1 AN ACT concerning transportation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding
5 Section 16-102.7 as follows:
6 (625 ILCS 5/16-102.7 new)
7 Sec. 16-102.7. Penalty limits. A municipality, township,
8 county, or other unit of local government may not impose a
9 civil penalty for violation of this Code that is in excess of
10 the amount provided for in this Code.
