Bill Title: Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department shall issue a quarterly report to the Commerce Committee of the Illinois Senate detailing the number of new businesses incorporating or otherwise forming in Illinois, the number of businesses not seeking renewal of their registration or having lapsed registration in Illinois, and the number of businesses renewing registrations in Illinois. Effective immediately.

SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
20 ILCS 605/605-1010 new

Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department shall issue a quarterly report to the Commerce Committee of the Illinois Senate detailing the number of new businesses incorporating or otherwise forming in Illinois, the number of businesses not seeking renewal of their registration or having lapsed registration in Illinois, and the number of businesses renewing registrations in Illinois. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning State government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic
5Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is
6amended by adding Section 605-1010 as follows:
7 (20 ILCS 605/605-1010 new)
8 Sec. 605-1010. Quarterly business report. The Department
9shall issue a quarterly report to the Commerce Committee of the
10Illinois Senate detailing the number of new businesses
11incorporating or otherwise forming in Illinois, the number of
12businesses not seeking renewal of their registration or having
13lapsed registration in Illinois, and the number of businesses
14renewing registrations in Illinois. The Department shall
15obtain any information necessary to create this report from the
16office of the Secretary of State.
17 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
18becoming law.
