Bill Title: Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department shall issue a quarterly report to the Commerce Committee of the Illinois Senate detailing the number of new businesses incorporating or otherwise forming in Illinois, the number of businesses not seeking renewal of their registration or having lapsed registration in Illinois, and the number of businesses renewing registrations in Illinois. Effective immediately.

AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2082
2 AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2082 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
4 "Section 5. The Secretary of State Act is amended by adding
5Section 16 as follows:
6 (15 ILCS 305/16 new)
7 Sec. 16. Quarterly business report. The office of the
8Secretary of State shall issue a quarterly report to the
9General Assembly detailing the number of businesses registered
10with the Secretary of State, the number of new businesses
11incorporating or otherwise forming in Illinois, and the number
12of businesses renewing registrations in Illinois by category,
13including, but not limited to, limited and limited liability
14partnerships, corporations, and limited liability companies.
15The report shall include comparable data from the corresponding
16quarter of the previous calendar year and shall reflect any

1increases or decreases. The office of the Secretary of State
2shall publish the report on its website.
3 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
4becoming law.".
