2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Lorraine K. Shadid of Peoria, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on November 9, 2024; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Lorraine Shadid was born to Harry and Sadie | ||||||
6 | (Abraham) Unes on April 30, 1931; she married George P. Shadid | ||||||
7 | on May 30, 1953; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Lorraine Shadid worked at the Bradley University | ||||||
9 | Cullom-Davis Library for many years, where she supplied | ||||||
10 | students, including two of her Bradley University | ||||||
11 | grandchildren, with baked goods and laughs on a regular basis; | ||||||
12 | and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Lorraine Shadid lived a full life; she was happy | ||||||
14 | and kind and an optimistic person who believed in the goodness | ||||||
15 | of everyone; she treasured her family and friends; she was | ||||||
16 | able to see her grandchildren grow into adults and had a | ||||||
17 | relationship with each that shared cooking, humor, joy, and an | ||||||
18 | abundance of love; and

19 | WHEREAS, Lorraine Shadid was preceded in death by her | ||||||
20 | husband; her son, George P. Shadid Jr.; and her siblings, | ||||||
21 | Lawrence, Ken, Donald, Harriet (Fred) Bostany, Helen (John) |

2 | WHEREAS, Lorraine Shadid is survived by her son, James | ||||||
3 | (Jane) Shadid; her daughter-in-law, Mikie Shadid; her | ||||||
4 | grandchildren, James (Anne) Shadid, Joseph (Lauren Powell) | ||||||
5 | Shadid, Margaret (Grant Bosnich) Shadid, and Lauren Shadid; | ||||||
6 | her sister, Norma Joseph; her brothers, Leonard (Eileen) and | ||||||
7 | David (Marie); and her sisters-in-law, Patricia (Murphy) Unes, | ||||||
8 | Carol (Bonucchi) Unes, and Sue (Gary) Weaver; therefore, be it
