Summary
An Act To Create The "mississippi Regional Early/middle College High School Act Of 2025"; To Declare The Legislative Purposes Of Regional Early/middle College High Schools; To Define Certain Terms And Phrases Used In The Act; To Initiate The Development Of Rules And Regulations For Regional Early/middle College High Schools; To Establish That The Location Of Early/middle College High Schools Shall Be On The Campuses Of Postsecondary Educational Institutions; To Provide Guidance On The Governing Board For Regional Early/middle College High Schools; To Prescribe A Funding Structure For Regional Early/middle College High Schools That Would Allow Per-pupil State And Federal Funding To Transfer From The State Department Of Education To The Postsecondary Educational Institutions For The Purposes Of Supporting Regional Early/middle College High School Students; To Prescribe Standards For The Establishment Of The Regional Early/middle College High Schools; To Allow Postsecondary Educational Institutions To Initiate And Govern Regional Early/middle College High Schools; To Establish Requirements Relating To The Enrollment Of Students In Regional Early/middle College High Schools Residing In The State Of Mississippi And A Lottery Process For Selecting Students When Capacity Is Insufficient To Enroll All Students Desiring To Attend An Early/middle College High School; To Establish Notification Expectations; To Require Regional Early/middle College High Schools To Demonstrate Adherence To The Statewide Accountability And Accreditation Standards; To Ensure Nondiscriminatory Practices; To Establish Eligibility Guidelines For Extracurricular Activities And Opportunities; To Ensure The Granting Of Certain Waivers That May Impede School Innovations; To Amend Sections 37-151-93, 37-151-103, 37-57-107, 37-15-31 And 37-15-38, Mississippi Code Of 1972, In Conformity To The Preceding Provisions; To Bring Forward Sections 37-16-3, 37-16-4, 37-16-5, 37-17-6 And 37-17-7, Mississippi Code Of 1972, For The Purpose Of Possible Amendment; And For Related Purposes.
