House Bill 1068

AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 45-14-65, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT RADIOACTIVE WASTE TRANSPORTATION FEES BE USED FOR PREPAREDNESS INCLUDING INFORMATION ON EMERGENCY RESPONSE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Section 45-14-65, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

     45-14-65.  The agency, in conjunction with the State Board of Health, shall develop as soon as practicable * * *a training program preparedness programs for public safety and emergency management officials which shall include * * *instruction information on emergency response to transportation accidents involving radioactive waste.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2013.
