STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 9549 IN SENATE September 7, 2022 ___________ Introduced by Sen. RITCHIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT in relation to authorizing the commissioner of transportation to issue a permit exempting certain signs The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The commissioner of transportation is hereby authorized to 2 issue an exemption pursuant to section 342-f of the highway law for any 3 sign that was constructed in reliance upon building permits issued by 4 the town of Alexandria in 1988 and 2022; provided, application is made 5 to the commissioner of transportation within 180 days of the effective 6 date of this act. 7 § 2. The commissioner of transportation is hereby authorized to issue 8 an exemption pursuant to paragraph (c) of subdivision 1 of section 349- 9 dd of the highway law for any sign that was constructed in reliance upon 10 building permits issued by the town of Alexandria in 1988 and 2022; 11 provided, application is made to the commissioner of transportation 12 within 180 days of the effective date of this act. 13 § 3. The commissioner of transportation shall promulgate rules and 14 regulations specifying the proof required to establish reliance stated 15 in sections one and two of this act. 16 § 4.
