BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That section 2108.31 of the Revised Code be | 4 |
amended to read as follows: | 5 |
Sec. 2108.31. Any person seventeen years of age or older | 6 |
may, without consent of the person's parent or guardian, donate | 7 |
blood in
a voluntary blood program | 8 |
for profit | 9 |
10 | |
years of age may, with consent of the person's parent or guardian, | 11 |
donate blood in a voluntary blood program that is not operated for | 12 |
profit. | 13 |
Before obtaining blood donations from students at high | 14 |
schools, joint vocational schools, or technical schools, a blood | 15 |
program shall arrange for the dissemination of written donation | 16 |
information to students to be shared with their parents or | 17 |
guardians. This information shall include a statement that the | 18 |
students will be requested to donate blood. | 19 |
Section 2. That existing section 2108.31 of the Revised Code | 20 |
is hereby repealed. | 21 |
