| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Nick Tavanello as a 2012 Division I State Wrestling Champion; and |
| WHEREAS, Wrestling is a sport that requires exceptional strength, stamina, and natural ability, and Nick Tavanello is to be applauded for his commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining his athletic goals, he has certainly distinguished himself as a true champion; and |
| WHEREAS, Under the direction of his mentor, Coach John Gramuglia, Nick Tavanello has attained the state wrestling crown three times, and he is deserving of prestigious recognition for his outstanding accomplishments. This season, he defeated a tough opponent in quadruple overtime with a score of 6-5 and won first place in the Division I State Wrestling Tournament in the 285-pound weight class, and his record of personal achievement stands as a hallmark worthy of emulation; and |
| WHEREAS, In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. Through Nick Tavanello's participation in high school sports, he has learned the important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to him throughout his life; therefore be it |
| RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, recognize Nick Tavanello for his impressive attainment as a standout for the Wadsworth High School wrestling team and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further |
